Too Busy To Scuba Dive?
Sometimes life just gets busy, but you crave seeing sea life & exploring. The least expensive and fastest way to get a touch of that “being in an other world” feeling, is simply going to an aquarium. It doesn’t replace scuba diving, but if you know it is going to be a few weeks (or months!) before exploring the oceans, it can really help you get a touch of the wonderous feelings scuba diving gives you.
The aquarium on pier 39 in San Francisco allows you to walk under the bay and feel like you are really there. If you are on the East coast of the US, the New England Aquarium has some nice exhibits. Here is a well done video so you can immerse yourself for a few moments while you web surf:
No, it’s not the same — but if you are too busy to scuba dive, it is a nice diversion and often supports sea life around the world. So get out and enjoy!

You also may want to see the new Phillipine Coral Reef Exhibit at the California Academy of Sciences at the heart of Golden Gate Park.
It has a 212,000-gallon, 25-foot deep aquarium filled with sea life.
